The Council of African American Parents aka CAAP, is a nationally renowned, rigorous college prep non-profit based in the Inland Empire in Southern California. Approaching their 30th Anniversary, CAAP’s recording-breaking college admission rates hover at the 100th percentile annually for their scholars. Universities of acceptance range from USC and Stanford to UC Berkeley, UCLA, Harvard, Princeton, NYU, Columbia, Loyola Marymount, Howard, Xavier, and Spelman to name a few. Receiving dozens of awards, UC Berkeley identified CAAP as a National Model that consistently demonstrates the overwhelming advantages of parent involvement. CAAP’s Academic and College Prep programs include their Personal Academic Learning System (PALS) for 4th-12th grades, the Reading Circle for K-3rd grade, the Legacy Algebra Institute Program for boys, and the Juniors/Seniors 16 Week Workshop that takes 11th and 12th graders through the grueling college application process, and includes guest lecturers, academic experts, college recruiters from around the country and writing coaches.
